Over 60% of the subscribers here in India are pre-paid subscribers. The remaining post-paid subscribers pay monthly, their usage varying from Rs. 400 to Rs. 1500 per month.

There are no 'contracts' here, fortunately :)

and how about post pay? is that similar to thailand where you have a one month rolling contract?

The handsets sold here are not subsidized at all. We pay the full price of the handset when we buy it, or on EMIs. But the handset is never tied to any carrier.

And I'm more tempted with the X1 now.

Preshit are you tempted by the N96 or the X1? Are your handsets subszidised over in india on post pay? When i was over in Thailand and Malaysia I found they weren't. Just wondering if the Indian Market was the same?
