Anyways, our journey into aggregation in Canada started with Zim Corporation based in Ottawa. They loaned us a Long Code to play with and some free bandwith to use. However when the carriers cut off access to the long codes, we had to move to the notorious short code - 82444.
If you recall at that point, we were introduced to our friends over at Mythum (mythum.com) who helped us with the short code and all of our aggregation requirements. It was Michael, Dean and Wayne who helped us out at Mythum.
To this day, I still recommend Mythum to anyone who contacts me for SMS / aggregation requirements and have not had a negative experience yet.

I've worked with many of them - but depending on your need or volume, the fact that they are direct or indirect may not matter.
Also note that some mobile agencies will have multiple aggregators setup on their inhouse mobile platform.
