As it says in the FierceWireless piece Ben is becoming CEO at Alcatel-Lucent - not chairman. I worked at a senior level at BT and Ben is pretty hot stuff. He was the driving force behind getting broadband out of the mess it was in and delivering real new wave revenue growth.
Interestingly he answers his own mail from consumers. God alone knows how he found the time for that but when a "request" came down from the CEO's office to sort out poor Mrs Singh's service, believe me things moved and fast.
