Calling all Nokia & Symbian geniuses: Am I wrong?
That error message you are getting looks like there is an issue with packet data. You'll find that you might have trouble accessing websites from the phone as well.
"If I was an advertiser with BLYK I would be worried, as it seems there is an issue with some Sony Ericsson phone and the ability to receive MMS brand messages."
I suppose that this is true, however this doesn't just affect Blyk, it will affect every network. SE need to do a little more work to improve the error messages so that they are useful and create an OS that doesn't fail as often as it does!
In order to resolve: If you find that all the settings on your phone are fine, If after a soft reset doesn't work, you'll need to try restoring the phone to the factory settings. If this doesn't work, then your only option is a re-flash for the handset (either online [if its available for that phone] or at some service centre).
EDIT: That response from Blyk Member care is a little embarrassing... "All i can ask is that you show some more of that amazing patients (sic) again and wait until these errors are sorted." [cringe]
[insert usual disclaimer here about backing up all your content!] :)
I'd love these guys to succeed and prove there is a viable alternative model for a network, but this performance is getting hard to defend. Technical issues aside, the PR team should be in full 'serious problem' mode and managing this with plenty of good comms.
I had some messages that didn't send today, which wasn't ideal, and due to the lack of Delievery Reports (they were around in the nineties) I had no idea either. The service has actually got WORSE over these twenty nine or thirty days. Plus, despite of all this, they still haven't posted an announcement over these problems, I have suggested many times "use the Blog, people read it", or "where is the annoucement in the forum?" I have no response.
The repeat threads are highly annoying, and repetitive. Why not clear it up and make it obvious to all?
As for the Blyk response you posted... Terrible. It's not about personal opinion, which I feel the moderators tend to push upon members too much. They are not paid to present their opinion of the company they work for, and so what if the technicians have worked hard? If the Blyk users don't see that, then it will not be appreciated. As for the actual written language, appalling!
Also, I want to know where the Monthly newsletter is!
Samantha.
I posted a moan on the forum... I think it's now just taking the mick. I'm awaiting a response, and I'm sure it'll be interesting!
