But that might change with the actual production units!

Re: Nokia N96 from 3 arrives in September

Hi Ewan,

Can you remember if there was any physical 3 branding on the devices that were on display? For example the N95 8GB has a small 3 logo above the camera.

Thanks.

Re: Nokia N96 from 3 arrives in September

well one thing that nokia does well on the n series is build quality
my n95 is bomb proof, has been dropped, abused and genrally beaten about
and is still solid.

Re: Nokia N96 from 3 arrives in September

nice to see how speedy the ui is - a constant nag with S60 is its UI lag.

Re: Nokia N96 from 3 arrives in September

its hard to get overly im pressed by the N96 - esp if you already have an N95 8gb.
I'm on an N95 old skool - so may well go this route - but I'm still wondering about the tube and its as yet unknown n-series big brother. oh and what ever android has to throw at us.

Re: Nokia N96 from 3 arrives in September

"HSDPA brilliance"? er, doesn't just about every new handset have that? Like the new Skypephone at about 1/10th the cost to the MNO?

And 16GB of storage? Neither here nor there - literally. Serious musophiles have 80GB iPods, otherwise 8GB will do you for many days of listening.

Sorry, but having roughed one up for a while, I am singularly unimpressed with the N96. Not enough, too late.

As James Qik'd, the graphics is a backward step while Super Monkey Ball shows the way on the iPhone.

And don't get me started on the awful, awful keypad. When we KNOW tactile feedback is king, that in-the-pocket or under-the-desk entry is important for many, they go and make it completely FLAT..

N96 = a flaming great pile of meh.

Oh, and the plastic kickstand will last all of 6 minutes in real life.

Re: Nokia N96 from 3 arrives in September

no point buying this phone its a limited edition model - true N95 successor will be OMAP3 powered with faster processor and graphics and new S60 v5 UI this phone is seriously lacking in the graphical and power departments nice video capabilties though!

Re: Nokia N96 from 3 arrives in September

For future reference Jon, what would you have liked to see?

Re: Nokia N96 from 3 arrives in September

Nice!
