Mobile Industry Review: Mobile Industry Review Show - Week 41

  • PatrickatJPR · 1 year ago
James, she'd changed her hair - how were you to know it was the same person?!!
  • DanLane · 1 year ago
Did you notice she was also wearing the same clothes? I can't stand how some people can be so unimaginative as to wear the same outfit all the time!
  • James Whatley · 1 year ago
    I didn't notice *that -

*discovers another reason to go back and watch the show AGAIN.

    :D
  • jamesbody · 1 year ago
Look on the positive side - wearing the same outfit means that you do not have to agonize what to wear in the morning.....

'Shall I wear my black combat trousers today, or perhaps my black combat tousers.......'
  • DanLane · 1 year ago
This is exactly my reasoning!.... mornings take up so much less time now!

How could anything be better than the pens? :-)
  • Kip Hakes · 1 year ago
Seriously - the pens are amazing - soooo nice and weighty - have pride of place in my bag :)

    Woot!

Won an iphone case. Need an iphone now. :D

Oooh, and the Sony Ericsson you are giving away - I know someonel that would like that! :)
  • Abul · 1 year ago
The girl who had the SE W595 was Melinda Seckington who was at the DarkSide Launch with Ben Smith, that's why she had one on her! FYI!
  • Anthony · 1 year ago
Ben being the only sober one amongst us... I still have no idea how I made it home! :-D
  • Abul · 1 year ago
How anyone manages to stay sober with free champagne, I don't know...
  • Ross Derrick · 1 year ago
yay. thanks for the iphone case.

    Good vid as normal!

Whatley since have you started letting Dan Lane say "Roll Credits"!
  • James Whatley · 1 year ago
    Good Point Mr Rad.

Mr and 'The Lane' shall be having words ;)

(and the cheeky beggar snuck it in there quick so I didn't get a chance to say it - git!)

    :)
  • DanLane · 1 year ago
Feel free to use either of my catchphrases :P
  • DanLane · 1 year ago
I found the amount of groin references in this week's show unnecessarily high!

BTW, anyone spot Wil Harris from ChannelFlip in the normob walkabout asking if we're looking for someone without an iphone?
  • sevendotzero · 1 year ago
I think you need to go further back for your old handsets! How about the NEC P3 or even a Nokia Mobira?
  • jamesbody · 1 year ago
Now - I have a handset (still working last time I checked) - that you could feature.

You would have to send the MIR Transit van a coupe of blokes to pick it up though....
  • worldofnokia · 1 year ago
good show guys, but spotted a BIG typo. On the black screen before you show the W595 on 3 you called it (in text) the Sony Ericssonn W959

    Oops :p
  • Ewan · 1 year ago
Aye I put the correction on the vimeo page earlier Daniel... Although I'd be interested to see a W959 from Sony!
  • Anthony · 1 year ago
To be fair to you MIR guys, even someone (who I won't name and shame!) at 3mobilebuzz called it the w959 in an email re-inviting me to the launch!

    Big oops! ;-)
  • jamescoops · 1 year ago
ha - interesting to see the lady slagging off her iphone - worrying amount of dodgy samsungs around at FOWA
  • EricE51 · 1 year ago
hah! I'd like the T610. I wont toss at any random boy either. Regarding the Americans, dont you have SIM kiosks at the Airport? Just wondering.
  • James Whatley · 1 year ago
"I threw it at a boy...."

    Best Impression. EVER.

    :D
  • David Carrington · 1 year ago
Exclusives, James' infectious happiness, and prizes for doing practically nothing. The editting was also really nice, especially the flashbacks to past shows. By far, very far, the best show you guys have made to date.

More light-hearted videos like this please!

Unfortunately, I have no iphone to go in a case - have you got 6 of those to give away next week? ;)
  • DanLane · 1 year ago
"James' infectious happiness" - That's not what we call it! ;)

    Thanks for the kind words!
  • James Whatley · 1 year ago
Glad you enjoyed it dude - as Dan said, thanks for the kind words. You're right, Ewan excelled himself in the edit this week... Really good job.
  • matthew bennett · 1 year ago
Please edit out the crotch shots. Both visual and aural.
  • Anthony · 1 year ago
I've only watched the first 3 minutes and I'm laughing my socks off. Whatley's, "It's my job man!" cracked me up. That, and how scared some of the folk look. Like deer in headlights...
  • James Whatley · 1 year ago
    I scare people?!

    ;)
  • Abul · 1 year ago
    Only normobs.
  • jamesbody · 1 year ago
What do you expect people to do when a highly excited and unshaven individual lurches towards them with a very inquisitorial manner?

I think that normal reaction is 'Flight or fight' - so James is lucky not to have received the odd defensive poke!

Now - if he was cleanly shaven, smartly dressed (wearing a pink shirt) then the reaction might be a little different....

Now what would be funny would be getting Dan to do the 'Normob Pursuit' spot!
  • ocifant · 1 year ago
Yay! I won stuff!! Many thanks guys - I'm on holiday deep in 'no-signal' territory at the moment - an experience I may just have to write about - so I'll obviously have some catching up to do when I get back.

Hi Guys, good show, not quite up to the usual levels of detail for me, maybe more on the W595 and a bit more on FOWA would have been nice. Looking forward to next weeks, Rich

Does the 6230 count as 'old' yet? Hands down the best mobile phone this decade, I think I ended up owning a total of 3, after I'd sell one I'd end up buying it again later.
  • Ricky Chotai · 1 year ago
I think James should have to use the old phones for a few days and the 3310 is a classic
  • edgar1013 · 1 year ago
oh woaw i won the flip!
this is the best thing that's happened to me since losing my virginity!
    HAAAAA i'm psyched! thanks guys!
another great show. normob awesome as usual. James get yourself a laser gun and zap all those iphone users!
Ben i emailed you my addie. ;) thank you.

nice little review on the nokia 6650. it is being released on at&t nov. 4. i am thinking of renewing my contract with it. at 70 dollars after rebate, it is the best bang for the buck at&t has to offer.
they are also releasing the touch pro at $300, the w760 for $130 and the razr v9x for $200
the 6650 is a no brainer.
