Mobile Industry Review: MIR Show - Week 44 - HulloMail, voicemail that’s yours to keep

  • barneyc · 12 months ago
An interesting and disruptive play on voicemail - enjoyed it. Subtly different to Spinvox in making the VM actually your content to do with as you please. Transcription would be nice.

Great to now see two VM alternatives in the marketplace moving the value out from the operators.

we are planning on offering transcription as an option with a 3rd party very shortly... andy @ hullomail

tried signing up but failed on creating association with Google Apps domain email. Suggestions before I retry?
  • barneyc · 12 months ago
Scrap that. Hadn't seen the email from Chris Beauchamp (Ops Mngr) 3 minutes prior detailing that I had obviously had a problem signing up, what the problems was and suggesting a solution. Farking outstanding proactive customer / potential customer care.

    Well done HulloMail.

Right now you will get another 15 minutes of attention.

    That's rather impressive!
  • barneyc · 12 months ago
So far so good on the communication although the registration process has failed me thus far. Will update.
  • barneyc · 12 months ago
Quick update. After a little but very useful conversations with HulloMail all up and running just fine. Chat with Andy last night after MoMo informative and these guys will hopefully provide Spinvox with some much needed competition.

    Signed up this morning.
All seems to be working fine with a pop gmail account too.
    Good stuff.

  • Peter Santiago · 12 months ago

Very interesting to see Spinvox interview HulloMail!
  • James Whatley · 12 months ago
You didn't see SpinVox interview HulloMail.
You saw James Whatley of MIR interview HulloMail.

I thought that would've been clear by the 'MIR interviews Andy from Hullomail' billing we gave it.
  • PatrickatJPR · 12 months ago
James, I thought you might say that and to be fair that's what it looked
    like.

    Still interesting though ...

James Whatley != SpinVox shocker - full news at 10.
  • PatrickatJPR · 12 months ago
Ben, I thought as far as the social media world was concerned that was the plan.

Wondering if Chris Webb wants his numbers and stuff shown? ;)

I will be commencing legal action very shortly
  • DanLane · 12 months ago
*sigh* I'll grease up the MIR lawyers :(
  • Mike42 · 12 months ago
Never grease a lawyer - you both end up covered in grease, and the lawyer enjoys it.
  • DanLane · 12 months ago
Not only that, but he'll bill you for it too!
  • Ben Smith · 12 months ago
The first rule of lawyer greasing is "don't talk about lawyer greasing".

spinvox + hullomail would = ultimate in voicemail access & managment.

I use spinvox and love it. It saves me so much time. But having voicemail as an email would be great too. Although, for me, transcription is more important atm. I would really love a merge of these two systems.

I am really sorry, but I don't see the business case here. Why do users need that? It is way simpler to press 1 (or whatever) to connect to your voicemail. When will you ever have a computer handy when you are not at home or at work or you don't own an iPhone etc? I don't think that this is a winning product... sorry.
