Calling all Nokia & Symbian geniuses: Am I wrong?
/subtle dig
remind you all no other country other than india you get free "incoming" calls for prepaid. this is not available in any other country as far as i know. (may be in s.africa too)
the best mobile phone service is being experienced in india. it is infact better than hong kong as i use both extensively.
i am not sure if iphone added the indian language fonts in the iphone. if not...then i am disappointed.

I am an Airtel subscriber myself, and I'm happy with the EDGE connection that I get. Yet, there are a number of times that the EDGE speeds are just not bearable. The iPhone is touted as a remarkable internet device, but living with sub-standard EDGE speeds doesn't do it justice. And for people in areas where there is no EDGE, god bless. Although the sale of iPhones will be limited in non-metros, it still counts.
And no, iPhone has not added any regional fonts in the iPhone. In fact, it even has the same number format as the US. It is the same firmware that's available in the US, but that works with Indian carriers.
I know a lot of people who've dropped the idea of picking up the iPhone after Airtel and Vodafone announced the prices, including me. I would've been ok if they charged around 20-25k (GBP 247 - 308) for the 8 GB model, but for around 30k (GBP 370) I would rather go for a N95.
Also, Preshit - has Nokia revealed the price of the N96?
Oh, by the way, I have a question for James, Ewan and the other hardcore mobile users:
Given a choice, which one would you go for, the iPhone 16 GB or the N96?

No, the prices have not been officially announced yet. The announcement, I believe, was only to make the people aware that they have a monster phone coming up.
In nutshell, iPhone is bomb. It has:
iPod, internet and obviously phone. No need to explain what iPod is, I really love when it comes along with phone.
Wish to get a new one very soon.

So, finally comapny understood mindset and problem of common man of not want to spend such a big amount of Rs. 31000/36000 to buy an iphone and made it available through EMI with tying up with few banks. I saw this info on iphone section of airtel site (http://www.airtel.in/iphone3g)
