  • Ouch. That's really poor... and here I am not even being able to get my hands on one in the first place.

Right now Apple and O2 are like the cute girl and the *ahem* less-so girl at the party... you spend way to much time talking to one in the hope the other will pay you some attention. Perhaps it's time to cut our losses with O2, wait a few months and jailbreak PAYG models?

Not having enough phones to go round isn't a crime, allowing that small problem to cause this farce is.
  • Poor service arrangement!
How can a big service provider like O2 serve their new customer like this!
  • the way O2 have handled (or not) the launch of the 3G iPhone has been a total farce and PR disaster. but i have to say - i ordered mine online and it was delivered on Friday by courier. I couldn't activate it until saturday through iTunes but then bingo, that simple. the only down side is the poxy O2 network. not much point in having a 3G phone when the best i ever get from O2 is Edge. but the phone is lovely !
  • I don't think it's a PR disaster. It's a total screw-up internally. What a
    shame...
  • Are British companies just crap at major launches in general?

How did it go in the rest of the world? Did other similar-size nations suffer the way the UK has?

Would this have happened in Sweden? Germany? Italy? (hang on, don't answer that last one)
