Why, then, do I have to pay 'more' if I keep using data after midnight?

Shouldn't I just start another 25mb allowance?

Re: Look how far we’ve got to go in this industry

Yes - that's exactly what I was thinking. I thought the '£££ per meg' pricing was only for overages.

Re: Look how far we’ve got to go in this industry

Well exactly. It's because that 25mb for £5 is tied to midnight in the UK. You'd think that the day would reset wouldn't you?
Incomprehensible.

Re: Bentley Walker satellite broadband internet: Any good?

I had Tooway from Bentley Walker and it was a disappointment. The installation process was fraught with problems - all eventually solved but involved a lot of chasing and blame from the installation company that BW didn't know what they were talking about and BW sending me back to the installation company. The speed was also slower than I expected.

Re: Look how far we’ve got to go in this industry

If your timezone change meant that you lost a few hours of a day, you'd be getting less than 24 hours for the 'day' you paid for, and vice-versa. Keeping it in the home timezone does at least mean you pay for consistent blocks of 24 hours (albeit unable to use some of it while on a plane!). I imagine if it swapped with the timezone it could get confusing for both the operator and the customer. Especially if you were hopping between multiple timezones.

Re: Look how far we’ve got to go in this industry

Ewan, I don't get it. Why can't you just start tomorrows data allowance of 25mb at £5 after midnight? Send back or drop off the old one and move forward to the new one, with all your data being backed to a secure server you spend extra for and the swap is easy and your data securely wiped before handing over the old handset.

Re: Why the UK operators are really screwed: 92% of customers don’t plan on increasing their spend over the next 2-3 years

Totally agree. I would be happy to pay for better data service, so other users watching youtube or something else of little use cannot take the bandwidth I am using to make money or conduct business.

I like the device on rotation idea as well, excellent. They have a lot of work with but seem like many industries to have little interesting in changing business as usual.

Roaming is a big one as well, this one I would be really happy to pay to have good data at the right cost anywhere I go. This cannot be that hard to work out, and device replacement along with it. Would be happy to pay £20 more for this type of service or offer.

Re: TU me: Telefonica’s integrated, smart over-the-top (“OTT”) messaging service

There we go!

Re: New transcription offering makes HulloMail’s voicemail service better than ever

I tried it a few months ago and had ok results -- strange given it's supposed to power Siri.

Re: TU me: Telefonica’s integrated, smart over-the-top (“OTT”) messaging service

This.
