I was in France on business earlier this year & tried to pay my hotel bill with my HSBC Corporate card. Declined - try again - declined. I had a couple of personal cards so used one of those. Phoned HSBC when I got home & was told - 'you should have phoned us to tell us you were travelling abroad'. Firstly - it's a corporate card & what do business people with cards do - they travel - duh!
