What matters is what ever is useful for FB people, they will use it and appriciate a website like that which makes their life easier. haha

Re: 3’s Skypephone S2: The Facebook Phone

Thanks. It was more curiosity -- the price is very good for the capability, even without skype. I am fully loaded with HSPA dongles and phones.

I'd guess the only time you'd want to get it unlocked would be roaming abroad in non-3 markets.

Are there any lower cost HSPA phones available anywhere in the world? (legit sources & major manufacturers only)

What's the lowest cost HSPA dongle on the market? Don't expect one any time soon...

....and if you unlocked it for use on another network, Skype wouldn't work anyway. Probably other apps too, that need a proprietary back-end, like MSN or Facebook.

If you just want HSPA access, why not buy a dongle?

Q: was there ever an unlock for the original Skypephone? That was pretty cheap too.

Re: 3’s Skypephone S2: The Facebook Phone

you can play with live skype phones in the '3' stores
or at the Leicester Square 'Social NotWorking' event today.

http://mostlythis.com/post/49682317/three-water...

mac

Re: 3’s Skypephone S2: The Facebook Phone

Hi All ... quick question, is it possible to unlock the Skype Phone S2? It's the lowest cost HSDPA-capable phone on the market (£70 for 1 with £10 credit, or £100 for 2). I'm trying to work out the extent to which that's subsidized pricing ('cos you can't easily unlock it).

Next best is VOD, which has the Nokia 6124 on for £100 and it doesn't lock phones anymore, so far as i know.

Thanks much!

Re: 3’s Skypephone S2: The Facebook Phone

Talked to the PR. I'd be interested to know if it had features that weren't currently available on most web-capable mobiles.
